In March of 1994, The Salvation Army of Salinas opened a new youth drop-in center known as "Kid's Café". It was felt that a safe after-school program, offering positive and constructive activities, had become necessary in our community.
“Kid’s Café” became an instant success and offered a variety of services ranging from; organized recreation, games, and field trips. Educational services such as homework labs and computer labs; and the opportunity for youth to socialize with their peers in a safe and well structured area. The “Kid’s Café” is currently operating with approximately 10,000 square feet of space for all activities.
